2 Photographers Research

Vivian Maier
Dorothea Lange

Both photographers produce emotion filled pictures through their portraits. Vivian
Maier's subjects are mainly candid street scenes in which she subtlety captures people's  daily routines or bigger events through an outsider's lense. She is able to portray a certain feeling of normality through her black and white photographs just like how Dorothea Lange captures family's lifestyles on the country side.

The technical elements taken considerations seems to be the subjects and the angle which influences the lighting on the photograph. Those two elements are then, able to create an atmosphere and make the viewer link an emotion to the photographs.

I think their main idea was to capture people's soul and story. To show through their lenses the passage of humans and our habits by taking candid, raw portraits and photographies of their surrounding.
