Self-Portraits research

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol would use wigs and different colours in his self-portraits in order to express his different moods and show his personality. He either took self-portraits on polaroids or Screenprinted them onto the canvas with colours to create a Pop Art self-portrait. He would also play with the lighting in order to create more contrast in the face in order to resemble more a skeleton to talk about his acceptance to death.
